.... And the Damned: Dartmouth's Worst ProfessorsBrenda Silver Professor Silver is a prominent subscriber to the growing trend in English literature, feminist criticism. This 'new scholarship' essentially believes that anything longer than it is round must be a phallus. If you enjoy listening to the classics of Western Culture being destroyed by feminist deconstruction, then you will love to listen to her lectures.
Professor Frankenberry teaches Religion 13, 'Women and Religion: New Explorations.' Some of the texts are entitled Sexism and God-Talk: Toward a Feminist Theology, and Gyn/Ecology: The Metaethics of Radical Feminism. Frankenberry describes the course as 'the antidote to the white male patriarchal traditions' that the rest of the religion department teaches.
Marysa Navarro was featured in the very first issue of The Dartmouth Review — over sixteen years ago. She is still causing problems on the Dartmouth campus today. She is perhaps the most notorious biased grader in Dartmouth's history and a feminist reactionary to the bone. Avoid her.
Superlatives, such as 'Worst Professor at Dartmouth,' should be used as seldom as possible. However, in Lynda Boose's case, the title might be warranted. Nothing good could possibly be said about this lady. She once had her English 5 class sits through more than four weeks of soap operas in place of class lectures. She frequently cancels class with little warning. She once missed class for a whole week because of a toothache. She routinely hands papers back late and does not hand her grades in on time.
Nelson teaches American Political history, but it would be more honest to say that he teaches the history of American race relations, since he sees all politics through the lens of racial tension. According to one black student, Nelson epitomizes the 'guilty white man syndrome.'
Professor King's class, 'Deviance and Social Control,' is famous on campus because students are required to perform deviant actions for credit. King imposes her own 'social control' over students by imposing a rather arbitrary grading system. She can also be seen around campus, serving on various panels, and discussion groups, and spouting the usual liberal mantra.
Luxon is Dartmouth's resident Milton scholar, and in fairness, he is generally considered an adequate professor. However, he has been known to bring his considerable liberal baggage into class at times. Also, he is strongly influenced by the new, feminist readings of literature. Luxon is a noted liberal crusader around campus, and he has been known to behave like a spoiled child when he doesn't get his way. Most recently, he stormed out of a showing of Alpha Chi Alpha fraternity's infamous 'Hell Night' tape when audience members disagreed with his interpretation.
Menge is one of the worst professors in a department filled with bad professors. His lectures are hard to follow, and he does nothing to make a difficult subject easier.
Spitzer teaches a special brand of revisionist history. Students report that they actually know less after taking Spitzer's course than they did going into it. |
