PRIYA RE-HASH

Sir—

I can’t imagine how Priya Venkatesan ‘90 was ever hired. She is obviously a very disturbed person who needs help! I hope she does continue her suit against the students. It will expose her incredibly muddled mind to the public. It should also shorten her career in teaching. The students were correct in their “revolt.”

Where was Tom Cormen, the Chair of the Writing Program?

My thanks to Tyler Brace for his interview exposing this disturbed, disgraceful teacher.

DREARY TIMES

Sir—

The dreary appearance of your publication seems to reflect accurately the intellectual content, both of which I find offensive. I hope you will stop sending the ugly rag and solicitations like this to my address.

A PASSAGE TO HANOVER

Sir—

May I have the honour of introducing myself to you. I am a lecturer in Philosophy here in a local university college. Recently I have come across a copy of your periodical in American Centre Kolkate. I am interested in it. May I request you to please arrange to send me complimentary copies of the Review, and include my name and address in your mailing list for this purpose. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I hope I will receive a favourable response from your end. I understand Eleazar Wheelock founded the college in 1769 and became its first President, and guided the college through the early days of the American Revolution which culminated in the American independence in 1776.

GREAT COMMENCEMENT ISSUE

Sir—

I thought the Commencement 2008 issue was one of the best ever! Keep up the good work!

LANGUAGE LAPSE

Sir—

Is it not duplicitous to say “the hoi polloi” since hoi means “the”? [TDR 5/16/08]
