Dean Johnson Considering Mandatory Course on “Diversity and Inclusion”

According to a post in the open Facebook group “Dartmouth Afro-American Society,” Dean Johnson is considering a “distributive requirement or some sort of mandatory course focused on diversity and inclusion.”

The post purports to quote Dean Johnson’s email in its entirety, reposted below:

“As you may or may not know, we are moving forward with a coalition focused on actions that will positively impact the campus climate. A distributive requirement or some sort of mandatory course focused on diversity and inclusion has been suggested and is being considered. Other ideas will be considered as well, and some will be easier and more quickly implemented than others.”
