The Green Keynote

Absinthe
A touch of lime
Half a can of Sprite
Mint to garnish
The hair of the dog

Hard alcohol ban? Well, technically the Green is property of the town of Hanover … nothing wrong with a simple picnic shared with everyone’s favorite fairy. It’s been a week since Powwow, and the spirits of the Native American forefathers still linger on the hallowed ground. The trees are in bloom and the grass has finally returned from its six-month slumber—much to the dismay of sinuses everywhere.

It’s been a long, ragey, and successful weekend. Every tune was struck on Friday, Hanover’s greatest music festival, endured by many on the now trash-laden and footstep-trodden lawn. A green spirit hangs out around the graveyard; she nods in recognition as you gaze off in her direction. (For some reason, she looks like Carol Folt.) The tingy roundness of her nectar coalesces with the sharpness of lime and poppiness of the classic lemon-lime beverage enjoyed by children everywhere.
