(6:45 AM) This is Andrew Grossman, writing from the Mike Fisher for Governor Philadelphia Campaign World Headquarters in Philadelphia, where he is, for now, the only member of the Mike Fisher for Governor Philadelphia Campaign Strategic Response Team in attendance–never a good sign on election day.

(7:15 AM) Just got off the phone with CENTCOM – 130 of our poll-watchers are already out of the game. Hopefully it won’t be that kind of day.
(8:30 AM or so) Three homeless, two men and a woman, just left my office after 10 minutes of haggling. They wanted money to go “work the polls” this election. A voicemail message from our Northeast office informed me that homeless are lined up there with similar intentions. Apparently, this is normal practice in Philadelphia; the group that came to my office was actually offended that I wouldn’t pay them. “Seems like nobody’s really serious about this election,” said one of the men who was dressed in filthy Temple athletic sweats.
(9:30 AM) The latest from Zogby shows Sununu ahead, but not by much (and other polls disagree). So get out the vote (just don’t do it in Hanover). Also, it’s looking more and more like Louisiana‘s going to be a mess in the coming weeks.
(10:55 AM) Overheard, one side of a telephone conversation: “There’s a big Russian guy there telling people how to vote, in Russian. Look, I need somebody to kick his ass. I’m serious. Knock him out or something. Oh, really? Great.”
Zogby: “watch for surprises.” Really?
(11:11 AM) Overheard, one side of a telephone conversation: “With an axe? What? Look, send Ed up there. Just try to do it legally.”
(11:35 AM) Poll-times!
John Fund’s hour by hour map.
Best of luck to Alston (with Dole) and Celia (with Benson)…like either of you will need it.
