The men’s hockey team will bring in eight freshmen next year, according to this article in the Valley News, including a former member of the US National Development Team, a first for the school. The class includes five forwards, 2 defensemen, and a goalie.
Additionally, two others have been accepted but have deferred enrollment for a year, including Coach Bob Gaudet’s son, Joey.
The class of 2009 will be trying to fill the gaps left by forward Lee Stempniak (4th in all-time scoring) and goalie Dan Yacey (.917 Save% is best in school history). Hugh Jessiman’s decision between staying for his senior season and turning pro also remains a big question mark.
