The House of Representatives has just passed the Republican budget proposal put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). Other alternatives included Obama’s plan as well as a more extreme budget put forth by the Republican Study Committee, a subset of House Republicans. That budget almost was approved as the GOP’s choice, as an unprecedented number of Democrats voted “present,” which, is neither a yea or a nay vote.
