Women’s Rugby

Dartmouth Women’s Rugby has only been a varsity sport for four years, but the team has already established its dominance in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association. The team has three Ivy Championships to its name, and in the fall, Dartmouth captured the NIRA National Championship after defeating #2 Harvard 19-14. More recently, members of the team have been recognized for their work both on the pitch and in the classroom. Freshman standout Emily Henrich ’22 was awarded the MA Sorenson Award by USA Rugby. The award recognizes the top female player in collegiate rugby, and Henrich is the first Dartmouth player to be named the recipient. Henrich is also a member of the Women’s National Rugby Team and will represent the United States at upcoming tournaments. Captain Kat Ramage ’19, a three-time-All-American, was also named a finalist for the MA Sorenson Award. Off the pitch, Ashley DuPuis ’19, a member of the national championship winning team, was one of seven Dartmouth students and alumni to be selected as a Fulbright Scholar. DuPuis, a History major who has been involved in the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy, will be working in Budapest, Hungary, at a think tank connected with Corvinus University of Budapest. While abroad, DuPuis will be taking classes in Hungarian and conducting research on migration and asylum policy in Eastern European nations.
