Men’s Lacrosse: Loss vs. Princeton

HANOVER, NH — On April 15, our very own Big Green lost 17-7 against the Princeton Tigers. The loss puts the team on a three-game losing streak. The beating was brutal, with Dartmouth being down 7-1 after the second quarter.

The first quarter began with a boom. Dartmouth’s Colin McGill, number 25, drew first blood by making the first score of the game. Unfortunately, Princeton proceeded to pounce on Dartmouth’s poor defense, scoring seven goals over the course of the first two quarters.

The third quarter showed signs of a comeback. Dartmouth’s Nate Davis, Cameron Brown, and Emmett Paradine scored a combined four goals, but Princeton managed to match their scoring with four of their own. Also, four of the six fouls of the game were committed during the quarter.

The fourth quarter ended any previous hope created by the third. Princeton scored six while Dartmouth scored two. While this Reviewer would like to pinpoint the straw that broke the camel’s back, the situation was closer to a boulder crushing Wile Coyote.

The loss leaves Dartmouth with a 6-4 overall record for the season, and a 1-3 record within the Ivy League. As these three League losses were the team’s last games played, it is not looking good going into its upcoming game against the University of Pennsylvania, which has a 3-2 record within the Ivy League. Readers wanting to watch the team’s next home game, against Brown, should head to Scully-Fahey Field on April 29 at 1 pm.
