Haines sighting

I kid you not. While scoping out the George Washington University Law campus, I found a crowd of students gathered outside of a building with many obvious Secret Service agents securing the area. John Kerry was inside the Lisner Auditorium giving some sort of interview and maybe also picking up the official endorsement of Dean. Kerry came out and waved and saluted the crowds before filing into an SUV and driving off with police escorts. As soon as the car pulled away, Robert Haines — still with beard, cowboy hat and sign — entered the street and stood stoically. I later spotted a tired looking Haines holding out a hand — for a slap or a handout I’m not sure — standing on a sidewalk nearby.

I celebrated by attending a taping of Crossfire, co-hosted by a stuttering James Carville and a drunk Robert Novak.
